About PDF to JPG
PDF to JPG turns each page of a PDF into an image file. Choose JPG for photos and small files, PNG for sharp text and diagrams, or WEBP for the web. Pick the resolution and the pages, and download a ZIP with one image per page.
Images go places PDFs can't: social media posts, slide decks, chat apps that preview pictures but not documents, website galleries and image-only upload fields. Designers export page previews, teachers turn worksheet pages into pictures for an online class, and sellers post a product sheet on Instagram.
The conversion uses the same rendering engine as Firefox's built-in PDF viewer, so pages look the way you expect.

Choosing format and resolution
DPI means dots per inch. A PDF page measures its size in inches, so DPI decides how many pixels the image gets. An A4 page at 72 DPI becomes about 595 by 842 pixels, enough for a thumbnail. At 150 DPI it becomes 1240 by 1754 pixels, sharp on a laptop screen. At 300 DPI it becomes 2480 by 3508 pixels, the standard for printing and OCR.
JPG compresses photos well but blurs the sharp edges of text, which can show as faint smudges around letters. Raise the quality slider to 90 percent or more if the page is mostly text, or choose PNG. PNG stores pixels without loss and keeps text and line drawings sharp, at the cost of larger files for photos.
WEBP sits between the two. It produces files about 25 to 35 percent smaller than JPG at similar quality, and every current browser displays it. Some older desktop software, including older versions of Microsoft Office, can't open WEBP.
Transparent areas of the PDF get a white background, since most PDFs represent paper and JPG has no transparency.
Tips for better results
- For Instagram or LinkedIn, convert at 150 DPI and crop the image afterwards to the platform's aspect ratio.
- For OCR software, use PNG at 300 DPI.
- To create a PDF from images again, use JPG to PDF.
- Very large pages, such as architectural drawings, at 300 DPI produce huge images. Lower the DPI if your browser slows down.
