About Delete PDF Pages

Before
After

Delete PDF Pages removes the pages you pick and saves the rest as a new PDF. Click thumbnails to mark pages, or type page numbers and ranges if you already know which ones have to go.

Typical jobs: dropping the blank backs of single-sided originals that went through a duplex scanner, removing a cover letter before forwarding a report, cutting an outdated price list from a sales deck, or trimming the terms and conditions pages a bank attached to a statement.

The pages you keep stay as they were. The tool doesn't re-render or compress anything.

How to use Delete PDF Pages

  1. Open your PDF with the button or by dragging it onto the page.
  2. Click every page you want to remove. Marked pages turn gray and show a red label.
  3. Or type the pages in the Pages box, for example 2, 5-7, 12-.
  4. Check the summary, which shows how many pages you remove and keep.
  5. Click Delete and download the new PDF.

Click or type

Mark pages on the thumbnails or enter ranges. Both stay in sync.

Clear preview

Pages you remove get dimmed and labeled, so you don't delete the wrong one.

Smaller files

Images and fonts used only by removed pages leave the file too.

Original untouched

You download a new file. The original stays on your device unchanged.

Finding and removing blank pages

Duplex scanners scan both sides of every sheet, even when the back is empty. A 30-page single-sided contract becomes a 60-page PDF with every second page blank. Open the file here and the empty thumbnails stand out at a glance. If the blanks fall on every even page, click each one or type the even page numbers separated by commas.

Some blank pages aren't blank. A scanner picks up faint marks, punched holes or bleed-through from the front side, and the thumbnail looks almost white. Zoom into the thumbnail with your browser zoom if you are unsure, and keep any page that carries a stamp, signature or handwritten note.

Deleting pages works by building a new PDF that contains only the pages you keep. Shared resources, such as a logo that appears on every page, stay in the file once. Resources only the deleted pages used, such as a large photo, drop out, so the output is often smaller.

If you need the removed pages later, use Extract PDF Pages on the original to save them as a separate file before or after this step.

Tips for better results

  • Use Select all, then click the pages you want to keep to unmark them. That is faster when you keep only a few pages.
  • To keep a handful of pages instead of removing a handful, Extract PDF Pages does the same job from the other direction.
  • You can't delete every page. A PDF needs at least one page.
  • After deleting, run Add Page Numbers if the document had numbering that is now out of sequence.
