About Rotate PDF
Rotate PDF turns pages by 90 degrees left, 90 degrees right or 180 degrees, and saves the new orientation in the file. Anyone who opens the PDF afterwards sees the pages the right way up.
Your PDF reader can rotate the view, but that change disappears when you close the file. Sideways scans, upside-down pages from a document feeder and landscape tables in a portrait report all need a permanent fix before you send them on.

How to use Rotate PDF

- Pick the direction: 90° left, 90° right or 180°.

Why pages end up sideways
Phone scanning apps guess orientation from the camera's position. Hold the phone flat over a desk and the sensor can't tell which way is up, so pages often come out turned. Flatbed scanners save pages the way you placed them on the glass, and a landscape spreadsheet placed at an angle comes out sideways.
Every PDF page has a rotation setting that tells readers to display it turned by 0, 90, 180 or 270 degrees. This tool changes that setting. It doesn't redraw the content, so a rotated page keeps its sharpness and its selectable text, and the file size stays the same.
Rotation adds up. A page that already has 90 degrees of rotation and gets another 90 ends up at 180. If a page looks wrong after rotating, rotate the same page again in the other direction.
Some upload portals and older printers ignore the rotation setting and show the page in its original orientation. That case is rare. If you hit it, run the file through Flatten PDF with the whole page option, which bakes the orientation into a picture of the page.
