About Extract PDF Pages
Extract PDF Pages copies the pages you choose into a new PDF. Your original stays the same, and you get a second, smaller file with only what you need.
Use it to send one chapter of a book draft to an editor, pull the signature page out of a contract, save the two pages of a manual that cover your model, or collect the relevant slides from a long presentation export. Teachers extract exam pages from a test bank. Paralegals extract cited pages from a long filing.
You can also save each selected page as its own PDF. The tool packs them in a ZIP file for you.
How to use Extract PDF Pages
- Open the PDF you want to extract from.
- Click the thumbnails of the pages you want, or type them in the Pages box, for example 1, 4-6.
- Turn on One file per page if you want each page as a separate PDF.
- Click Extract and download the result.
Pick visually
Thumbnails show each page so you grab the right ones, even in long documents.
One file or many
Get one combined PDF or one PDF per page in a ZIP.
Exact copies
The extracted pages keep their text, images, links and size.
Works offline
After the page loads, extraction runs without a connection.
Extract, split or delete: which one to use
Three tools on this site cut documents apart, and they differ in what you get back. Extract PDF Pages gives you the pages you selected and nothing else. Delete PDF Pages gives you everything except the pages you selected. Split PDF gives you the whole document, cut into several files.
Pick extract when the part you need is small compared with the whole: three pages out of two hundred. Pick delete when you want to keep most of the document. Pick split when every part of the document has to go somewhere.
The extracted pages appear in the order of the original, sorted by page number, even if you clicked them in a different order. If you need a custom order, extract first and then open the result in Organize PDF.
Extraction creates a fresh PDF that holds only the resources your pages use. A page from a 50 MB scanned book comes out at the size of one scanned page, not 50 MB.
Tips for better results
- Type ranges for long documents. Clicking through 300 thumbnails takes longer than typing 120-145.
- Combine extracted pages from several files with Merge PDF.
- If the source has a password, unlock it first with Unlock PDF.
- Use One file per page for certificates, invoices or tickets that each need to go to a different person.
Questions and answers
Does extraction change the original file?
No. You get a new file. The original stays on your device as it was.
Can I change the order of extracted pages?
The tool keeps the original order. Open the result in Organize PDF to rearrange it.
Will links and bookmarks still work?
Links on the extracted pages that point to websites keep working. Bookmarks and links that point to removed pages don't carry over.
Is there a size limit?
No fixed limit. Your browser's memory sets the practical maximum.
Are my documents stored anywhere?
No. Extraction runs in your browser and we never receive your file.
