Tool output

NewKitApp's tools process PDF files in your browser using open-source libraries. PDF is a complex format, and files from different software behave differently. A tool may occasionally produce output that differs from what you expect: missing form fields after a merge, text order that varies in a conversion, or colours that remain after grayscale conversion. Check every output before you rely on it, send it or print it, and keep your original files.

Our guides discuss electronic signatures, document security, data protection and similar topics in general terms. They aren't legal advice. Laws differ between countries and change over time. For decisions with legal consequences, such as signing contracts, filing official documents or handling personal data at work, consult a qualified professional.

Security features

Password protection uses AES-256 encryption as defined in the PDF standard. Its strength depends on the password you choose. Permission settings (printing, copying, editing) rely on PDF readers respecting them and can be bypassed by determined users. Watermarks and the sanitize tool reduce risk but don't make a document impossible to copy or fully anonymous. Cropping hides content outside the crop area without deleting it.

Accuracy of articles

We write and review our articles with care and update them when we learn of errors. Software, browsers and laws change, though, and some details may be out of date by the time you read them. If you spot a mistake, tell us at hello@newkitapp.com.

Articles may link to other websites, and the site shows advertising from Google. We don't control those sites or ads and aren't responsible for their content.

Adobe, Acrobat, Microsoft, Word, Google and other product names belong to their owners. We mention them only to describe compatibility. NewKitApp isn't affiliated with or endorsed by them.
