About EPUB Reader
EPUB Reader opens e-books right where they are, in the browser. Drop an .epub file on the page and start reading: chapters, page turns and a text size you can change while you read.
The table of contents sits beside the book, so jumping between chapters takes one click. Turning pages works with the buttons, a click on the page, or the left and right arrow keys.
Books are opened and rendered entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and closing the tab closes the book.
How to use EPUB Reader
- Drop an .epub file on the reader or choose one from your device.
- Browse chapters from the table of contents.
- Turn pages with the buttons, clicks or the arrow keys.
- Adjust the text size with A- and A+ while reading.
- Close the book when you are done; nothing is stored.
Chapters at a glance
The book's own table of contents becomes a clickable list, and the current chapter is highlighted as you read.
Comfortable text
Five text sizes are a click away, and the pages reflow around your choice, the way e-books are meant to behave.
Read the way you like
Buttons, page clicks or the keyboard: every way of turning a page works, including on touch screens.
Private by design
The e-book is unpacked and rendered in the tab. There is no account, no upload and no library being built about you.
How the reader works
An EPUB file is a small package of XHTML chapters, a stylesheet and a navigation file. The reader unpacks it in the browser, renders each chapter in a sandboxed frame, and paginates it to fit the viewing area, exactly like dedicated e-reader apps do.
Because chapters are real flowing text, the reader can honor your font size: the book re-composes itself instead of zooming a picture of a page. The table of contents comes from the book's own navigation file, so it matches what the author intended.
The reader works offline once the page is loaded, needs no installation, and pairs naturally with the site's PDF to EPUB converter: convert a document, then proof-read it here before copying it to a device.
Tips for better results
- Press the left and right arrows to turn pages after clicking the book once.
- Use A- and A+ to find a comfortable size; the layout reflows instantly.
- Convert PDFs with the PDF to EPUB tool first, then proof-read them here.
- On phones, read in portrait; the paginator keeps wide books comfortable.
Questions and answers
Does it support DRM-protected books?
No. Books with DRM (like many store purchases) are encrypted and can only open in the app that owns the license.
Can it open PDFs or MOBI files?
This reader opens EPUB files. For PDFs, use the PDF Flipbook tool; MOBI and AZW files first need converting to EPUB.
Are my books uploaded or stored?
Neither. The book is read from your device into the page and disappears when you close the tab.
Why does text size change the page count?
EPUB text flows. Larger text means fewer words per page, and the reader repaginates the chapter around your choice.
Does it remember where I stopped?
Within the visit, the book stays where you left it. Closing the tab closes the book, since nothing is stored.
