QR Code Generator

Turn any text or URL into a downloadable QR code — customizable colors and error correction.

What is QR Code Generator?

A QR code is a two-dimensional matrix barcode that stores data, such as URLs, plain text, contact details, or Wi-Fi credentials, as a pattern of dark and light squares that a phone camera can decode almost instantly. Unlike a traditional one-dimensional barcode, a QR code encodes information along both axes, which gives it far higher capacity (up to roughly 2,900 characters at the lowest error-correction setting). Built-in error correction at four levels (L, M, Q, and H) allows a code to remain scannable even when part of it is damaged or overlaid with a logo. A static QR code encodes its content directly with no underlying server or redirect, so it keeps working indefinitely as long as the encoded data itself remains valid.

How to Use QR Code Generator

  1. Type or paste the text, URL, or data you want to encode.
  2. Optionally adjust the error correction level, size, and colors.
  3. The QR code preview updates automatically.
  4. Click "Download PNG" to save the image, or copy it directly to your clipboard.

Common Mistakes

  • Using very light foreground / dark background combinations that scanners struggle to read — keep strong contrast between the two colors.
  • Encoding a very long URL when a shortened link would produce a simpler, more reliably scannable code.
  • Making the printed QR code too small — a code needs roughly 2x2 cm minimum for a phone camera to focus on it at typical distances.
  • Forgetting to test the generated code with an actual phone camera before printing it at scale.

Why Use This Tool

  • Generates the QR code entirely in your browser — nothing you encode is sent to a server or logged.
  • No expiring short links or tracking layer — what you encode is exactly what gets scanned, forever.
  • Adjustable error correction, size, and colors in one tool.
  • Instant PNG download or clipboard copy, ready to drop into a document or print.
