Sobre Compressor de imagens
Make image files smaller without uploading them anywhere. The compressor re-encodes each picture on this page with the quality you choose, and shows exactly how much you saved.
Keep the original format, or switch to WebP to squeeze out the extra kilobytes. Photos, screenshots, scans, batch after batch. Multiple results arrive as one zip.
Because compression runs on your device, nothing leaves it. There is no server-side processing, no queue, and no limit on how many images you can shrink.
Como usar Compressor de imagens
- Choose or drop the images to compress.
- Pick Keep format, or WebP for the smallest possible files.
- Set the quality. 75 to 85 percent is the sweet spot for photos.
- Press Compress and download the result, or the zip for a batch.
See the savings
The result panel shows the total size before and after, plus the percentage saved across the whole batch.
Keep format or go WebP
PNG, JPG and WebP stay in their format; WebP mode converts everything to the smallest modern format.
Never grows a file
If a re-encoded image would end up larger than the original, the untouched original is kept instead.
Private by design
Compression happens in your browser only. No uploads, no accounts, no watermarks.
How image compression works
Image compression throws away information your eyes rarely miss. JPG and WebP are lossy formats: they store an approximation of the picture, and the quality slider decides how faithful that approximation is. At 80 percent quality a photo typically shrinks to a fifth of its size while looking identical at normal viewing distance.
PNG is lossless, so re-encoding a PNG at lower quality converts it to fewer colors or, in this tool's pipeline, keeps it lossless and mainly wins when the source was wastefully encoded. For the biggest wins on photos, use WebP mode: it usually beats JPG by another 20 to 30 percent at equal visual quality.
Dicas para melhores resultados
- Start at 80 percent quality; step down gradually and stop when the picture still looks right.
- Screenshots and graphics with flat colors compress much better as WebP or PNG than JPG.
- Resize first when an image is also too large. Fewer pixels compress to fewer kilobytes.
- Check the saved percentage in the result panel. If it is small, the file was already well compressed.
Perguntas e respostas
Is the compression free and private?
Yes. Everything runs in your browser. Images never leave your device and there is no cost or account.
Will the picture look worse?
At 75 to 85 percent quality most photos are visually indistinguishable from the original. You control the trade-off with the slider.
What if compression makes my file bigger?
The tool detects that and keeps your original file instead, so a batch never ends up larger than it started.
PNG or WebP for the smallest files?
For photos, WebP. PNG is lossless and best for sharp graphics and transparency, but rarely the smallest for photographic content.
