Tentang Generator Password
This generator uses the same random source browsers trust for cryptography itself, then shows you exactly how strong the result is in bits of entropy. Nothing is stored, logged or sent anywhere. Close the tab and it is gone.
Choose a classic password with your preferred character sets, or a passphrase: several random words that are far easier to type and remember while holding more entropy than most passwords.
The entropy meter translates the settings into real security: each added bit doubles the work an attacker needs to brute force the result.
Cara memakai Generator Password
- Pick a mode: password or passphrase.
- Adjust length or word count and toggle the character sets you want.
- Watch the entropy meter until it reads strong for your use case.
- Click the result to copy it, or generate a new one.
Cryptographically random
Characters are drawn from crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling, so every character is uniformly likely. No Math.random shortcuts.
Honest entropy
The bit counter is computed from your actual settings, not marketing labels. A 20-character full-set password is about 128 bits.
Passphrases that stick
Random words from a 1,296-word list, capitalized and joined by your separator, optionally ending in a number.
Nothing retained
No history list, no account, no analytics on the values. Generation happens entirely on your device.
What makes a password strong
Strength is entropy: the number of equally likely possibilities an attacker must try. A password's entropy comes from the size of the character pool to the power of its length, while a passphrase's comes from the wordlist size to the power of its word count. That is why a five-word passphrase from a 1,296-word list (about 52 bits) beats an eight-character password (about 47 bits with all sets) while being far easier to remember.
Two habits undo strong generation: reusing the same password across sites, and storing it in plain text. Pair this generator with a password manager, which solves both, and enable two-factor authentication wherever it is offered.
Tips agar hasilnya lebih baik
- For accounts you type by hand, prefer passphrases: fewer characters to get wrong, similar security.
- Avoid look-alike characters when you will read the password aloud or retype it from paper.
- Aim for at least 70 bits for anything financial; 100 bits for master passwords.
- Never send a generated password through chat or email to share it. Use your manager's sharing feature.
Tanya jawab
Are the generated passwords really random?
Yes. They come from the browser's cryptographic random number generator, the same one used for TLS. There is no server involved.
Can this page learn my password?
No. Generation and display happen locally, and nothing is transmitted or stored. You can even disconnect from the internet before generating.
Password or passphrase, which should I use?
For a password manager, long random passwords are perfect. For anything you type manually, passphrases are easier and just as strong.
What does the bit number mean?
Entropy. Every extra bit doubles the guesses an attacker needs. 60 bits is uncrackable for a person, 80+ for organized offline attacks.
